This Privacy Policy explains how boilers.repair ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit boilers.repair (the "Site"). This policy is written to comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018, and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).

1. Who we are
boilers.repair operates this Site. For the purposes of data protection law, we are the "data controller" of the personal data described below. We do not currently have a registered business address published; please use the contact email above for all data protection queries.
2. What information we collect
We currently collect information about you in the following ways:
- Website usage data, collected automatically via analytics tools (see Section 3 and our Cookies Policy), including your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, time spent on pages, referring website, and general location (derived from IP address).
- Advertising interaction data, collected via advertising and retargeting pixels, including which pages you visited and your interactions with our ads, used to measure ad performance and show you relevant ads on other platforms.
- Emails you send us, if you contact us directly at help@boilers.repair. This will include your email address and anything else you choose to include in your message (e.g. your name, phone number, or details about a repair enquiry).
We do not currently have a contact or booking form on the Site. If we add one in future, this policy will be updated to reflect what data it collects.
We do not knowingly collect information from children, and the Site is not directed at children.
3. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies, including:
- Google Analytics (or similar analytics tools) — to understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it.
- Advertising and retargeting pixels (such as Google Ads and Meta/Facebook Pixel) — to measure the effectiveness of our advertising and to show you relevant ads on other websites and platforms.

4. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Understand how visitors find and use the Site, and improve its content and performance;
- Measure and improve the effectiveness of our advertising;
- Show you relevant advertising for our services on other websites and platforms (retargeting);
- Respond to any enquiries you send us by email.
5. Our legal basis for processing
Under UK GDPR, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Consent — for non-essential cookies, including analytics and advertising/retargeting cookies. We ask for your consent via a cookie banner before these are set, and you can withdraw consent at any time (see our Cookies Policy).
- Legitimate interests — for responding to emails you send us, where doing so is necessary to deal with your enquiry and does not override your rights and interests.
6. Who we share your information with
We share information with the following categories of third parties, who act as processors or, in some cases, independent controllers of data collected via their tools:
- Google (Google Analytics and Google Ads), for analytics and advertising purposes;
- Meta Platforms, Inc. (Meta Pixel), for advertising and retargeting purposes.
These providers may process data outside the UK/EEA, including in the United States. Where this happens, we rely on the relevant safeguards these providers have in place (such as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses) to ensure your data remains protected.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
7. How long we keep your information
- Analytics data is retained according to the default retention settings of our analytics provider (currently up to 14 months for Google Analytics, unless changed).
- Advertising/retargeting data is retained according to the relevant advertising platform's standard retention periods.
- Emails you send us are kept for as long as necessary to deal with your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards in case of follow-up, after which they are deleted.
8. Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you;
- Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data;
- Erase your data ("right to be forgotten") in certain circumstances;
- Restrict or object to processing in certain circumstances;
- Data portability, where applicable;
- Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent (such as analytics and advertising cookies), without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113, if you believe we have not handled your data properly.
9. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the personal data we hold from unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example if we add new features (such as a contact form) or change our use of analytics or advertising tools. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
